The 5-year Dentistry programme at the University of Szeged provides a comprehensive and well-rounded education. In the first year, students focus on basic sciences such as Anatomy, Histology, Biochemistry, Physiology, and Medical Biology, supported by state-of-the-art laboratories. The second year covers advanced medical subjects like Pathophysiology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, and Immunology, alongside introductory dental subjects such as Dental Materials and Preclinical Dentistry, utilising high-tech dental simulation labs. The third year emphasises clinical-oriented subjects including Oral Surgery, Periodontology, Conservative Dentistry, and Prosthodontics, with students beginning their clinical practice under supervision. In the fourth year, students continue clinical training in Paediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics, Endodontics, and Oral Radiology, with access to paediatric and orthodontic clinics, advanced radiology units, and endodontic treatment labs. The final year focuses on specialisation and complex case management in areas such as Implantology, Maxillofacial Surgery, and Advanced Prosthodontics, preparing students for final exams and thesis work.
