What does the 5-year Dentistry Program include?

Egas Moniz University offers a five-year Integrated Master’s Degree in Dentistry, combining extensive theoretical and practical training. In the first year, students cover Anatomy, Histology, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Introduction to Dentistry using modern laboratories. The second year includes Pathophysiology, Dental Materials, Oral Immunology, Oral Genetics, and Clinical Pharmacology, supported by advanced lab facilities. The third year focuses on Oral Rehabilitation, Preventive and Community Dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontology, and Oral Surgery, with practical sessions in simulation labs. The fourth year emphasises clinical practice in Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Paediatric Dentistry, and Advanced Preventive Dentistry, utilising the university’s dental clinics. The fifth year includes advanced clinical practice in Oral Rehabilitation, Oncology, Geriatric Dentistry, and a comprehensive internship, ensuring students gain hands-on experience with real patients.
