The University of Zagreb offers a six-year Dentistry programme in English, combining comprehensive theoretical education and extensive practical training. In the first year, students study basic medical sciences such as Anatomy, Histology, Physiology, and Biochemistry, utilising state-of-the-art labs. The second year covers General Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Preventive Dentistry, and Dental Materials, with access to pathology and microbiology labs. The third year includes Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontology, Radiology, Internal Medicine, and Surgery, supported by specialised dental clinics and advanced radiology labs. In the fourth year, subjects like Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Paediatric Dentistry, Community Dentistry, and Dental Ergonomics are covered, using clinical practice rooms and dedicated labs. The fifth year focuses on Advanced Oral Surgery, Implantology, Aesthetic Dentistry, Geriatric Dentistry, and Research Methodology, with advanced surgical suites and implantology labs. The final year emphasises Clinical Practice, Case Management, Emergency Dental Care, and Multidisciplinary Dental Care, with students completing 500 hours of practical training in community dental offices.
